New Street Lights for Inverness Forest

IFA vice-president, Sharlene Shugarman, is (in her other life) a well-known and respected commercial lighting consultant. She has provided a sample working street light (pictured on the left) for the community to see in operation. The light is on the island in front of 8183 Inverness Ridge Rd.

The board will be taking up issue of replacing the street lights with a more updated and energy-efficient design later this year or early next year. The sample light will give you an idea of how the community will look with the new lights.

Sharlene has provided the following details on the new street light design:
  • This new street light fixture is more efficient, provides more light distribution while using 30% less energy
  • Will reduce routine maintenance costs by having a 50% longer lamp (light bulb) life and better ballast
  • Reduce uncomfortable glare to drivers
  • Improve safety at night
  • Improve our community appearance

Excellent choice: (1) great light spread; (2) height is superior to current; (3) modern in design, attractive; and, (4)in harmony and adds a needed update in looks and functionality.

Recommend special assessment to cover the one time replacement of all fixtures.

Great time -competitive contractor pricing by single large purchase.

Looks nice and saving energy and maintenance costs would be great.
Has anybody seen it lit at night?

Also, I'm assuming that our front porch globes can be grandfathered in for ACC compliance. But would there be an option for us to have that kind on our porches? I wouldn't mind saving on my electrical bill. And is it possible (for the front porch option, I know the common area ones should be on constantly) to incorporate a motion detector so it comes on when someone comes up the path? I'd rather not have a light shining all night outside my bedroom window.

Looks nice and saves money. However the height is concernig as it would shine into the upstairs bedroom windows. I prefer the first lamp that was installed (at the entrance of IRR at Deborah).
It is an attractive lamp with a shorter pole and it directs the light down. There is no light going above the shade and it seems brighter than the newer lamp.
