The Potomac Patch Online newspaper interviewed the Jade Billows owner, Richie Lee. He explained that the closing of Jade Billows had nothing to do with a rent increase, but rather, after 20 years he was ready for a change.
I talked to Mr. Lee today -- I had to get one last meal at Jade Billows. He confirmed that it was time to move on and do something new.

Inverness Forest resident Joanne Casey has informed the Inverness Forest Facebook Group that the Jade Billows restaurant in Cabin John Mall will close on Wednesday July 25. Here is Joanne's Facebook post
Hello All - Just thought I would pass along that after 20 years of business at Cabin John Shopping Center, Jade Billows will be closing as of close of business Wednesday the 25th. Apparently Carl M. Freeman Companies increased the rent so high they couldn’t continue to stay open. The restaurant was packed tonight, and they will be open Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.You would think that with all the empty stores that raising the rent significantly would be the last thing Freeman would do!
